Description
New Vithanakanda FBOPF Ex. SP1 is a fine, wiry, well twisted whole leaf, with abundant gold tips (silvery tea buds, covered with expressed juices). The leaves infuse to give a russet red liquor, with a hint of caramel and a smooth length of dryness on the palate.
Sabaragamuwa is Sri Lanka’s largest tea growing region and it is also one of the island’s lowest regions, with elevations stretching from sea-level to 2,500 ft. Teas from this region produce a liquor similar to that of Ruhuna teas, bright copper with a reddish tint. Though the aroma of the Sabaragamuwa teas is different from the Ruhuna product, with a hint of sweet caramel.
New Vithanakanda FBOPF Ex SP1 has a bright, mineral flavour and a malty, fruity tone. It will take milk well.
