“Great Western character, slightly under fermented, which lets the flavour through. Delicate, flowery, excellent.”
“Good character is true to type.”

Lover’s Leap FBOP is a classic single estate Ceylon Nuwara Eliya tea, which is grown at well over 6,000 feet in elevation. The area is known as ‘the Champagne region’ of teas. Located in the hills of Sri Lanka, the climate is cool with steady rainfall and fragrant sea air blowing through the mountains.

Nuwara Eliya, the best-known of Sri Lanka’s tea-growing districts, is the most mountainous, and has the highest average elevation. Combined with low temperature, this produces teas of exquisite bouquet. The infusion in the cup is the lightest (palest) of all the types of Ceylon Tea, with a golden hue and a delicately fragrant flavour.

The district is often called ‘Little England’ due to the cooler, wetter climate and its red letterboxes! During the British Colonial period in the 19th Century, the Governor moved the government of colonial Ceylon to Nuwara Eliya during the hottest, most uncomfortable, months of the year. A wealthy, salubrious town sprang up around the house he built there.

Lover’s Leap is an area of the Pedro estate, named after the legend of two ill-fated lovers who leapt to their deaths, holding hands, from the top of the waterfall on Pidurutalagala. The estate is situated at an elevation of around 1800m (6000ft) above sea level, with annual mean rainfall of 2500mm and a temperature range of 10˚- 15˚C.

A distinguished single-estate Ceylon tea. Lovers’ Leap has a top quality FBOP rating. The lightly fermented leaf yields exceptional flavour with delicate floral and citrus qualities. Being grown at a very high elevation gives the liquor a light, golden colour with a delightful balance of robust taste and fragrant aroma that is released upon brewing.

The liquor Lover’s Leap FBOP, whilst light in colour, is well developed in flavour & character having a slight citrus flavour & aroma. Best drunk without milk or sugar. Brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste.
