Description
A pale orange liquor, subperbly balanced high grown flavour with aroma for connoisseurs. Perfect to sip and savour with or after food. Court Lodge Estate is situated in Kandapola, Nuwara Eliya at an elevation of 2012 metres above sea level and has an annual production capacity of 500,000 kg of made tea per annum. This estate is certified under Rain Forest Alliance, ISO 22000: 2005, UTZ and Ethical Tea Partnership. Court Lodge is managed by Thamal Manamperi and comes under the purview of Udapussellawa Plantations PLC.
This estate finds itself in the highest district of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) called Nuwara Eliya. This region produces what many connoisseurs characterise as liqueur tea, or Darjeeling style. Often called the ‘The Champagne of Teas’ of Ceylon teas.
Court Lodge borders Sri Lanka’s highest mountain “Pidurutalagala” and is near the famous Bomburu Waterfalls. The garden has in recent years produced top grade Teas and achieved excellent prices at the Colombo Auctions. Being on the western side of Nuwara Eliya, the estate benefits from the early years’ Monsoonal weather. This results in outstanding crops around the month of February. This is in contrast to the eastern side of Nuwara Eliya, where the monsoon effect arrives in the Autumn.
