Description
New Vithanakande BOP1 is a premium Ceylon black tea, distinguished by its exquisite balance of flavors and vibrant character. The dry leaves are finely broken, exuding a rich, malty aroma with subtle hints of cocoa. Upon brewing, the tea unveils a deep amber liquor that is both brisk and smooth on the palate. Its initial taste reveals a full-bodied, robust flavor with complex layers of honeyed sweetness and a delicate hint of citrus. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering note of dried fruit and a touch of spice. Delicious with or without milk.
This tea’s impeccable craftsmanship and nuanced profile make it an exceptional choice for connoisseurs seeking a refined and invigorating cup.
The New Vithanakande Estate is located at the foothils of the Sinharaja Rainforest, near Ratnapura, the famous city of gems, in the region of Sabaragamuwa. Sabaragamuwa is Sri Lanka’s largest tea growing region and it is also one of the island’s lowest regions, with elevations stretching from sea-level to 2,500 ft. Teas from this region produce a liquor similar to that of Ruhuna teas, bright copper with a reddish tint. Though the aroma of the Sabaragamuwa teas is different from the Ruhuna product, with a hint of sweet caramel and a mellow character that is unique to this region.
